A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Alongside cookies, websites can also use other local storage technologies (such as localStorage) to remember information on your device. In this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies.”

On your first visit you will see a notice with two options at the same level: accept or reject. Until you press “Accept,” no analytics cookie is loaded and no contact is made with Google's servers: the measurement system is not even downloaded.

If you ignore the notice or leave the page without choosing, it counts as a rejection. Rejecting does not limit any feature of the site: it looks and works exactly the same.

Your decision is stored in your own browser, under the key “apb-cookie-consent,” so we do not have to ask again on every visit. We do not send it to any server.

This storage is strictly necessary and does not require consent, because without it the site cannot work properly or respect your decisions:

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to know how many visits each page receives. It stores no cookie and nothing on your device, uses no browser fingerprinting, and cannot follow you from one site to another or identify you.

Precisely because it stores nothing on your device, the law does not require consent for this measurement, and it works whether you accept or not. We tell you here for transparency.

If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: which pages are read, from what kind of device, and what paths people follow. It helps us decide what content to improve, not to identify you.

Google Tag Manager is only the system that loads the tags and does not store cookies by itself. The cookies are set by Google Analytics, belong to the alejandroperezb.com domain, and are these:

The analytics provider is Google (Google Ireland Limited for the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and Google LLC in the United States), acting as a data processor under our instructions.

This means your browsing data may be transferred to the United States. Those transfers rely on valid mechanisms under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and Google's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We have IP address anonymization enabled, and both personalized advertising and data sharing with Google's other advertising products disabled. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

You can change your mind whenever you like, and doing so is as easy as accepting. There is a “Cookie preferences” link at the foot of every page, and a button on this page that does the same: it reopens the notice with both options. If you reject after having accepted, the page reloads to unload any analytics that was running and we stop collecting data.
